Why is the Hayward pump lid so difficult to loosen?
This makes it really difficult to get at the basket (that plus there’s apparently a strong vacuum with water going everywhere when I eventually remove it) and was wondering if anyone could recommend something before I end up breaking the whole lid. Thanks!

Most people complain about air leaks into their pump cover and it not being tight enough. I have a Hayward pump, but my basket lid looks different from yours. It has two protruding ridges running across the top, so there’s something to grab ahold of to shove.
