Why is my skimmer basket stuck?
Generally if you turn off the pump, clean out the leaves etc as much as you can, and try to grab it with both hands you can twist it or rock it lose. I have been able to get a really stuck basket out by threading some coat hanger through it and pulling on that.

Yes to this being a “new to us” pool. We did have the pool manually vacuuming a few days back when the skimmers had adequate suction. With the skimmers not functioning anymore I cannot get a properly primed vacuum to work correctly.

What can I do if my skimmer is not working?
you can clear line with air compressor & nosle that blows air by taking offpump lid & putting nosle with shirt rapped around it in top pipe where water enters from pool & blow out skimmer line. Sometimes leaves/toys will get sucked up & stuck in pipe. When doing this you will see water at skimmer go flying up high when pipe is being unclogged.
What happens if the water level is too low on a skimmer?
When the water level is too low, it prevents all the lines from covering the skimmer. You have to check if the vacuum hose is placed correctly into the inlet port. If the air isn’t getting into the pump, you have to turn on the pump and check if some bubbles are present.
