Why is my Rinnai space heater not turning on?

Rinnai says not to tamper with the pilot light because it’s supposed to light electrically when the thermostat kicks in. Thanks for any ideas anyone comes up with. –Ken Sounds to me that the temperature in your home is so high that the device will not kick on because it is out of range to do so.
