Why is my pool vacuum not getting enough suction?
Clogged tubes are one major reason why your pool vacuum lose suction. Vacuum hose connection and length can affect its performance. If your hose length is too short with the size of the swimming pool, then suction performance will be affected. Measure your pool size so does your pool cleaner hose to avoid the problem.
Why does my skimmer not work?
Why is my pool skimmer not working? A skimmer can be clogged with debris, disabling it to do its role efficiently. It may have a water level too high or too low, not getting enough suction, problems with the weir flop, air lockage, need a backwash, needs more help, and others.
Why do I have bad suction in my skimmer?
if you just cleaned your DE filter & still have bad suction at your skimmer, check your impeller for debris which will slow suction.
What to do if your pool skimmer is not sucking?
If one of the skimmers isn’t sucking, you’ll want to remove the basket from the skimmer. With the basket visible, you’ll then be able to check if the flow control valve at the bottom of the skimmer is open. It should be almost closet, but there are some that have a valve that doesn’t obstruct the suction inlet.
What’s the best way to close a skimmer?
If you have a separate line for the main drain and can close it, do that. You do want to isolate the suction line if your system is set up that way. If you have more than one skimmer you want to block one of them to increase suction. Mrclean’s advice to check the impeller for debris is a good one. Very common to get stuff in there.

Why is my Skimmer not drawing in debris?
If you have plenty of suction but debris floating on the surface is not being drawn in, or doesn’t stay in, then it is probably a problem with the skimmer weir. See next section. This is an obvious one but it can be easily overlooked.
