Why is my filter leaking from the top?
The majority of the time leaks such as this are from a bad spider gasket on a multiport valve, or plunger o-rings on a push-pull valve. To inspect or repair a leaking multiport valve, turn off power to your pump and release the pressure in the filter, then remove the screws on top of the valve.
Why is the pressure high on my filter?
When the filter pressure is higher than normal, this also indicates a flow problem. High pressure usually indicates a dirty pool filter, time to backwash or pull out the filter cartridge for cleaning. Be careful with high filter pressure, as filter tanks can rupture with deadly force.

What should I do if my water filter is leaking?
Shut off the water supply going to the leaking water filter by turning a ball valve lever 1/4 turn (90 degrees). Depressurize the filter by turning on the water faucet after the system until water stops. Shut off the water after filter if possible. Unscrew the leaking filter housing. Check and clean housing and O ring that seals the filter housing.
Why does my Hayward perflex pool filter keep leaking?
Noticed a little drip where the motor connects to the filter, but no problem, just tighten up. Went inside for a while, came back out and water was leaking from where the lid caps on to the filter body. I checked the clamp and the sleeve nut. Tightened as tight as it would go, coils touching. But its still leaking pretty good! What am I missing?
What to do if your water pressure gauge is leaking?
Usually the leak of a pressure gauge is actually the air relief assembly leaking water, and not the gauge. A leaking air relief valve can often be repaired with Teflon tape, or by replacing a small o-ring on the knob, or by installing a new air relief valve. The old Pac-Fab air bleeder fits many filters.
