Why is my AC unit not getting 24 volts?
Sometimes installers do not attach the Y wire on the control board and just have the Y wire attached loosely to the two wires that go out to your outdoor unit with wire nuts. You should be getting 24 to 28 volts AC between the Y and C (com) wire with your thermostat set to call for cooling.
