Why does my pool filter keep losing pressure?
It could be a clogged pump basket, clogged impeller, clogged pipe or clogged skimmer. It could also be a closed or broken valve before the pump. Or, the pump may have an air leak, and is drawing in more air than water, which will also reduce the filter pressure (and filtration).
Why does my pool pump get hot and shut off?
A pool pump can overheat in two ways: because of an electrical problem or friction. While electrically related failures are by far the most common cause for pump overheating, as we will discuss at length, there is also the potential for a friction fire to develop if a pump is starved for water.
Are there any problems with the Hayward pool filters?
Each has a different method of filtering out contaminants from pool water. These filter types are not unique to Hayward, and like similar filter devices from other manufacturers, Hayward filters can have various minor problems that are usually fairly easy to solve.
Why does the return hose come off the pool filter?
The last three days we have tried to clean our pool, but when we attempt to clean the pool, the return hose that is attached to the filter comes off and water is discharges everywhere. We have tighten both clamps but the darn hose comes off.
Why does my pool filter keep blowing off?
High pressure can cause laterals to crack and leak sand into the pool. It can also be the reason for a cracked tank or even more dramatic, the filter lid blowing off. As mentioned above, high filter pressure is a problem but so is low pressure which usually indicates some obstruction of the water going into the filter.
How does a cartridge water filter work in a pool?
Cartridge filters are relatively inexpensive when compared to DE and sand filters. They operate in much the same way as filters for drinking water ā the water flows through a porous canister-shaped filter filled with folds of polyester cloth or other material that catch contaminants but allow the water to flow through.
Is there a problem with my Hayward pool pump?
Reliable & durable, Hayward pumps will still likely need some type of troubleshooting at some point during your relationship. Why is my Hayward pump Tripping the Breakers?
I did a little web research and found that the part is a HARWIL Q-12DS FLOW SWITCH. There is current running through it and if it is shorting then the GFCI is doing its job by tripping the breaker. Iām thinking that if the impeller turns fine then I may ensure the wires are seperated so they can not short out and try it again.
