Why does my intellichlor keep blowing the fuse?
Intellichlor keeps blowing fuse? I have an IC20 pentair Intellichlor. And I noticed one day that there were no lights on the cell at all. After troubleshooting, I found that the fuse in the power center had blown. I replaced the fuse and turned the system on and the fuse immediately blew again. I’m wondering if the cell is likely dead?

If your Pentair Intellichlor IC40 or IC20 goes blank on you (no power) chances are it is just a blown fuse in the power unit. It is a very easy fix. All the salt systems have a fuse somewhere, the Intellichlor seem to blow more often then the other brands.

My previous cell is very old, so I just replaced it. Yours is 4 years old, so you may acid wash it first before replacing it. I have an IC20 pentair Intellichlor.
How to change a Pentair intellichlor salt cell to the ichlor?
Attach the adapter to one of the unions on the plumbing. Then simply attach the iChlor to the union on the adapter and the last union on the plumbing. Plug the iChlor into the old Power Unit. Turn power to system back on. That is it, congratulations – you have now upgraded your salt system to the iChlor!
