Why does my Hayward pool heater not ignite?
The heater will not ignite when the knob is turned on. I did some reading and saw that I could bypass or jump the wires to make the heater ignite, so I tried this using the black and white wires.

Inspect this wire, and if the sheathing is cracked or worn, replace it. This is quite often the culprit. If the gas pressure and supply is OK, the proper order for parts replacement would be the sensor wire, then the ignitor, then the gas valve. Good luck.
