Why does my Dometic AC keep tripping the breaker?
The most common causes of this problem are a bad compressor that is starting to draw too many amps on start up and/or while running, you could also have a bad start or run capacitor on the AC unit.
Why does the AC shut off after 2 3 minutes?
If there is a leak in the refrigerant line, it can lower the pressure in your AC system, which triggers the compressor (the part of your AC that pumps refrigerant) to shut off. Once the thermostat calls for cooling again, the AC turns on, detects low-pressure levels again, then turns right back off.
Is the Dometic rooftop AC throwing breaker too hot?
The compressor in the rooftop unit is way too hot to touch. I have replaced the circuit breaker (it was tripping at 13.5 Amps on a 15 amp circuit.) After letting everything cool off for a couple hours (still in 100 degree afternoon heat) I put a clamp on amp meter on the feed wire and turned on the A/C.
Why does my AC blower trip the breaker?
This causes the blower to draw more electricity and trip the breaker. Solution: Change the air filter. Your AC system has an inside unit and an outside unit. The inside unit absorbs heat from your air using refrigerant. That refrigerant flows to the outside unit to disperse the heat.
What to do when your AC breaker trip?
Here are the first steps to take when your AC circuit breaker trips: Turn the air conditioning system OFF at the thermostat(s). At your electrical panel, turn the AC circuit breaker switch to the ON position.
