Why does my cold water run out?

Why does my cold water run out?

There could be a wide range of culprits causing your cold water to run warm, but the most common include too much water pressure, closeness of pipes, recirculating plumbing, improper installation of heat traps, water expansion tank valves, and even something known as the heating effect.

Why is there no cold water in my upstairs toilet?

Go up and have a look. If the tank is full of water then check that no isolators are closed on the pipes from the tank. Maybe some polythene has fallen in and covered the pipework outlet. The toilets wouldn’t be off the cold water tank. Straight off the mains. So I suspect the taps are too for them all to fail at the same time.

Is there a cold tap in my toilet?

My tank only suplies the hot water cylinder. All cold taps and the toilet are straight off the mains. I believe you but I have never seen a toilet off the tank. That is why the “silent” systems were banned because of syphoning back into the mains when the supply went off.

Is there any water in my upstairs bathroom?

Rang the water company and they’re not aware of any problems in the area. Ran the kitchen tap (downstairs) and both hot and cold seem okay, though only had time to run them for 5 seconds as was already late for work. Help! I think you should get up into the loft.

Why does my upstairs tap not work but my downstairs tap work?

If the upstairs taps don’t work but the downstairs taps still work, or if the water pressure from a particular tap gradually declined until the water flow reached a trickle, then you might have an air lock in your pipes.

What to do if your bathroom has no cold water?
