Why does my basement flood when I wash clothes?
Blockage. The most common cause of basement drain backing up when washing clothes would be a blockage. Another reason for blockage would be the pressure from the washing machine. Because of the hard pressure and resistance of the basement drain sucking the water in supposedly, backflow happens.
