Why does my awning keep retracting?
If the awning automatically retracts every 30 to 60 minutes and and no wind is present, it means the batteries need to be replaced. Please refer to the “Changing Batteries on an Eolis 3D WireFree” video. The wind sensor needs to be connected to its mounting bracket for it to function properly.
What should I do if my awning won’t turn on?
If it does, then it’s in the wiring or switch. If not, it’s the motor. You should have directions in your owner’s manual on how to manually override the system and bring the awning back in. Typically it’s removing one or two screws near the motor and rolling it by hand with two people. Good luck!
When do you need to replace a retractable awning?
Automatic retractable awnings will use electric sensors to know when to extend or retract the awning. These tend to go out quite often and will need replacing. If you have an awning with an electric sensor you can expect to have to use the manual retraction lever on it anytime the sensor is acting finicky, or whenever the power goes out.
Why is my pull out awning on my RV sagging?
Pull-out awnings are included with many recreational vehicles. The awnings are designed to provide shade near the RV when the vehicle is parked. Over time, most awnings will start to sag due to age and the weight of water on the awning. You can fix most sagging awnings by readjusting the screws where the awning attaches to the mounting bracket.
What to do when your awning starts to sag?
Turn the screw into the mounting bracket with a ratchet so that the awning sits tightly in place. Screw the other side of the awning in place using a second hex screw. When the fabric starts to sag again, extend the fabric out an extra 1 or 2 inches a time to keep it tight.
