Why do I get incorrect voltage feed back?
One of the main incoming lines has a loose or burnt connection (my guess is L2 because L1 to N reading is correct) or you have an Open Neutral, which could be a loose or burnt connection as well. Roy, your getting a voltage feed-back due to one line that has been lost.
Why is the voltage wrong at the electric service panel?
How to Troubleshoot Incorrect Voltage Readings. [ad#block] Electrical Question: Why is the voltage wrong at the electric service panel? This is a residential service in a mobile home park, 120/240 volt, grounded, however this could also happen at any residential or home electrical panel. Line1 to Neutral and Ground = 113 volts.
How is pressure measured in a water pipe?
Pressure (measured in kilopascals or pounds per square inch) is the amount of mechanical force being applied to the water at a certain point in a closed pipe. You measure pressure either with a pressure gauge or pressure sensor (transducer) screwed into a fitting in the pipe. An equivalent in electricity is voltage or volts.
Why does the size of your water pipe matter?
The basic concept though is that if your pipe is too small when you are pumping water, then over a distance you will find that your system doesn’t have as much pressure out as you put in. An example is in your garden irrigation system.
What causes a voltage drop on an outlet?
Major factors that go into voltage drop include the current draw of the appliance, length and gauge. Traditionally, voltage drop means an expected or normal dip in an electrical circuit in a home. The natural impedance of the conductor causes this to occur.
Can a low voltage outlet cause a fire?
Wasted energy, wear and tear on major appliances and potential fire hazards, all of these can happen if you have a problem with the voltage at an outlet in your home. An electric wall outlet problem can be fixed a few ways.
Why do I have 66 volts on my hot wire?
hot to ground reads 66 volts. either you only have 66 volts on the hot…. or you have a bad (not well connected) ground. its possible that when the breaker tripped, the short caused burning between the black and ground. imagine a welder striking an arch.
Can a high draw Appliance cause a voltage drop?
If you have a high-draw appliance, it can cause a voltage drop. Don’t be alarmed: Highly inductive loads can also cause a minor voltage draw. First, check the fuse panel to ensure that none of the circuit breakers have flipped to the “off” position.
