Where can I get a gas furnace to relight?

Hi, we have a 2016 Forest River Rockwood Signature Ultra Lite fifth wheel, and I cannot for the life of me get the pilot light to relight. It’s a Suburban gas furnace. We live in South Carolina and the nearest dealer is 55 miles away.

What kind of DC does a gas furnace need?

The furnace needs at least 10.5 volts DC and sometimes more to open the valve. This must be checked at the module board with a multimeter. 2. Blown fuse. There is a 12-volt fuse in the distribution center and sometimes an inline fuse in the module board on the furnace.

What should I do if my furnace light is not working?

A misaligned thermocouple can also stop the pilot light from staying lit. It should be positioned properly in the pilot flame, so make any necessary adjustments if it isn’t sitting right, or replace it at this time if it’s broken altogether. Also be sure to check the furnace vent for blockages.

Why is my furnace not working in my RV?

If a vent inside the rig is closed or blocked with a rug and the air is restricted, the burner chamber gets to hot and the limit switch shuts the unit down. So if furnace #2 is not working, check the fuse at the distribution center, the outlets, and it could be low gauge wiring that will not send the signal at colder temps!

If your furnace is struggling to keep the pilot light lit, check the thermocouple to make sure it’s positioned correctly. A malfunctioning regulator on your propane tank could also result in an irregular pilot light.

Is there a pilot light on a gas furnace?

Hi there, thanks for the question. This model does not actually have a “pilot light,” but rather a direct spark ignition (DSI) that ignites the flame. When the temperature get down to the specified low, the gas valve opens and LP or liquid propane flows through an orifice to the burner assembly.
