When should I replace my DE filter grid?
There comes a time when you will need to replace the filter grids. This is usually after 7-10 years of hard work. The filter grids may develop holes, become unstitched, and clogged with oils and minerals.
How long should DE filter last?
How often do you clean pool filters? Most D.E. filters should back-washed after one to three months of use, or after the filter has built up 5–10 PSI of pressure. You should also dismantle and clean the D.E. filter at least once a year.
What causes d.e.to not go into the filter?
When the manifold is cracked it will do the same. If the multiport is bad it can cause the D.E. powder to not go into the filter at all and instead go directly back into the pool. If you are seeing small amounts of D.E. powder in your pool chances are that you have a rip or tear in your filter grid.
