What’s the durability of a CF 18 cooler?
In terms of durability I used my CF 18 everyday for about 7 months, traveled about 30k miles with it and was in temperatures ranging from 10°-100°+ and never once had any issues. Power draw is minimal and was easily able to run the unit off solar panels.
Do you need an icebox for a Dometic cooler?
Initially I considered the icebox conversion units, but there were three problems: 1- loss of an icebox for storage, 2- the installation pain (and they are not known for reliability) 3- the cost. Instead, I purchased a Dometic CF-050. I was able to keep my icebox for storage of dry goods.
