What size are my camper tires?
Simply read the numbers off the sidewall of your current RV tire. The most common tire sizes will have three parts, just like the 205/75-R15 tire pictured at right. This number will tell you the section width, the sidewall aspect ratio and the diameter of the wheel.
Can I put different size tires on my trailer?
Having different size tires on your trailer can cause a couple of different issues. The first one being that they have different weight capacities. The other issues are the uneven wearing of the tires which can lead to greater wear of suspension components and the load being carried un-level.
How do you figure out what size tire you need?

- The two digit number after the slash mark is the aspect ratio which measures the tire’s cross-section to it’s width.
- If the tire size is 255/60 R16, the 60 means that the height is 60% of the tire’s width. The bigger the aspect ratio, the bigger the tire’s sidewall will be.
Are all camper tires the same size?

How tall is a 15 inch trailer tire?

Why does my trailer bounces when empty?
Numerous factors can cause trailer bounce. Improper tire pressure, oversized trailer tires, stiff suspension, improper load balance or tongue length combined with the position of the axle can all be culprits.

What should be the diameter of a new tire?
Tire diameter can vary slightly for each tire model. The listed diameters are from calculations based on the tire size. When changing tire sizes, we recommend staying within 3% of the diameter/height of the original tire.
Do you need to check tire pressure on RV?
A word of caution: Tire pressure recommendations may be different from what is listed on the side of your tire, depending on the load of your RV or motorhome, so you may need to consult your manufacturers manual for specific inflation guidelines. How big of a tire do I need for a trailer?
Since trailers are designed for hauling their tires have a stiffer sidewall that helps hold the load and is able to withstand the movement of the suspension better. We recommend having at least 4″ of clearance to the fender for suspension travel and 2″ of clearance to the trailer frame.
