What should the voltage be on a hot tub pump?
Above it states 230 or 120 volts. Which one applies depends on the pump motor installed and it depends on the W1 white wire jumper. If this wire is attached to a RED AC terminal the voltage should be 230 volts. If attached to a WHT AC terminal the voltage should be 120 Volts.
How can I tell if my hot tub element is bad?
If your breaker is not tripping but your hot tub still isn’t heating, testing voltage to the heater using a multi-meter will help determine the cause. With the spa on, test both of the leads on the element at the same time.
How do you test a hot tub pump?
Attach a hose to the hose bib. Close the globe valve that is located after the outlet of the filter. Open the hose bib valve so water flows out of the hose. This confirms that water is in the pump and in the piping. Now raise the hose to the same level as the water line of the hot tub. At this point it will stop flowing.
What should the water temp be in a hot tub?
If the thermostat in a spa is set up to maintain the water at 102º, for example, the temperature of the Incoloy Outer Sheath will be about 110º. The water flowing past the element is carrying the heat away just about as fast as the element can produce it.

How do you test a 240 volt circuit?
Turn the dial of your multimeter and set it to120 volts. Insert the metal tip of the red probe into any of the slanted 120-volt slots, and slip the metal tip of the black probe into the middle (ground) slot. Your multimeter should read approximately 120 volts AC.
