Gary, those ignition systems are “fairly” reliable. Its basically a step up HV coil/transformer that receives pulses and the ignitor tip sparking to light the gas. I’ve encountered more ignitor tip failures (cracks, carbon traces, shorts, mis adjustments) or control board failures then the HV ignitor coil/transformer itself.
