What is spa spillover?

Spillover spas are hot tubs that connect directly to your pool through a small curtain or fountain of water. This water moves directly from the jacuzzi into the swimming pool, spilling over a ledge or a series of ledges. For example, you can choose to use a stone pattern for the ledge that water flows over.

Can I use spa mode to heat my pool?

So the short answer is yes, the pool and the spa can be heated (or not) separately. I generally set my spa temp (when I’m using the spa) to 103 and leave the pool temp at 82.

How does the pool spill over into the spa?

If i want to use the spa jets, i have to close the pool return (again, the pool and spa returns are connected to a single valve) almost all the way so most of the water pressure flows through the spa jet and the water overflows back into the pool. First, should i split the drain piping from the pool and the spa and add another valve?

How does a pool and spa system work?

The spa has a set of drains which are also enabled at the same time, so the spa water is isolated from the pool. It too heats up in 15 minutes, no advance planning required. When we turn the spa off, the system goes back into pool mode which merges the warm spa water into the pool so that no energy is lost.

Can a spa be connected to a pool?

Our pool uses the same pump for the spa and the pool, and you just switch it using a set of valves. The main downside to this is that the spa doesn’t get nearly as much circulation as the pool, so the chlorine levels are usually lower. Our spa is the first place algae breaks out when we have a problem.

Why does my spa drain into my pool?

My problem is that my spa keeps draining in to the pool so i have to close the drain valve (both the pool and spa drains are connected to a single valve) slightly, then the skimmer is the only suction line left for circulation and return line would flow back either through the pool return or spa return.
