What does sensor failure mean ON Raypak pool heater?
Error code SNS is an issue relating to the temperature sensor. Sometimes this could be a temporary issue and would fix when the heater goes off. However, the problem could be from the thermostat or voltage, causing overheating. If the water temperature is below or above the normal range, this error will trigger.

I would start by removing the Hi Limit 2 from the header (should be yellow wires) and let it hang by the wires, and see if you still get the fault. If you do, remove the other high limit (black wires) and plug it into the yellow wires, and the other hi limit into the black wires (switching them). Let them both hang and check.

How do you replace the temp sensor on a raypac pool?
Not at all difficult to replace. You’ll remove the front door, the four screws holding the panel with the board, and the top side panel where the sensor is located. Unscrew the white nut holding sensor in and then go from there. Assuming it is the temp sensor. OK, sounds easy but after backwashing the error went away.
