What causes a pool wall to buckle?

The number one cause of pool wall buckle or roll-up at the bottom is a leaking pool liner. The Ice formed on top of the pool like it always does. Then, the pool water that supports it leaked out from under the ice on top. The incredible weight of the ice hanging on the top rails transferred to the pool wall.

What causes above ground pool collapse?

Pool Collapse – An above ground pool collapse is often caused by the results of ice damage, but it can also happen when there is too much snow accumulated on top of the pool and the frame cannot handle the weight.

Why is my pool bowing?

It is very normal for the rails to bow in during the filling of these pools. They don’t push out until the pool is nearly full. I hooked my filter system up to long hoses that I hung over the top of the pool. I was then able to circulate the water during the couple of weeks it took to fill it.

Should you break up ice in a pool?

If the pool is already frozen more than 1/2″ thick, wait for a bit of a thaw before lowering, or break up the ice first before and while lowering the water level. For safety pool covers, be careful not to lower the pool more than 12″ below the tile line.

Why are the sides of my above ground pool buclked?

And you are right I really do not want a tusami from a 24 foot round pool which no one uses anyway! It is buckled at the very bottom and seperated by about 4-6 inches from the top going 1/2 way around. So does that sound like the poles need readjusting or just re-clip the metal pieces of wall.

When did the walls buckle on my above ground pool?

We will most likely drop down and probably will get more snow storms before spring is here. Last year I opened mid April when temps were around 60. I just noticed today that my walls have buckled much much worse this year compared to last season. I’ve taken a bunch of pictures and uploaded them here:

Why is there no way to repair an above ground pool?

The reason you cannot repair it is that when the wall buckled it lost height. If you look under the top-rails and there is a gap over 1 inch between the pool wall and the top, you need a new pool wall or pool. The wall is the pool; it is the most expensive part of the swimming pool.

Why is the bottom of my Pool not working?

Plus what you don’t know, is that when your pool wall rolled up at the bottom it locked itself into the bottom wall track, and you are not getting the track off without damaging it, so now that you have discovered this, you have to order wall track and wait another two weeks.

Are there posts on both sides of my above ground pool?

As far as knowing where to put them, there is a little lip on the posts, it is only about 1″ on both sides of the post. Believe it or not, it is just that 1″ that holds it. It is quite interesting the way these things are engineered.

Why is there no water in my above ground pool?

Water provides most of the structural integrity of an above ground pool. It might have been drained too low, or it may have developed a leak, or the weight of the ice displaced most of the water in the pool. Regardless of the cause you need to get the weight off the walls asap.
