There are “fins” or groves in that part that create friction and that heats the water. That’s the “hot stick” part. Your new pump does not have that. In my experience you have to order the pump from dreammaker (I have replaced 2 on 2 separate tubs). BTW the tub will heat very slowly. I hate their setup

How old is the Dream Maker spa X?

It’s only 3 years old so you can see that they don’t really hold their value at all…plus no local service. When I try for a trade for another brand even the most eager sales people roll their eyes when they hear the brand name. There are better brands with much more power and many more features for a few hundred $ more.
