How does a Dreammaker hot stick pump work?
There are “fins” or groves in that part that create friction and that heats the water. That’s the “hot stick” part. Your new pump does not have that. In my experience you have to order the pump from dreammaker (I have replaced 2 on 2 separate tubs). BTW the tub will heat very slowly. I hate their setup
Is there a problem with my Dreammaker pool pump?
Hi all, I got a Dreammaker spa from a friend for free, in pretty good shape, however when I first hooked it up, the pump ran fine for a minute and then started smoking electrical smoke from the motor. They said it was a direct replacement for the pump shown above.

Great Hot Tub, Pleasantly Surprised! My wife and me recently acquired a 4 year-old DreamMaker X-400 Spa for about $150 off Craigslist and couldn’t be happier. Filling it up with water via the garden hose took about 90 minutes, and after turning on the heater at 8:30pm–overnight it was 42 degrees–the water hit 102 degrees by 11am the next day.

How old is the Dream Maker spa X?
It’s only 3 years old so you can see that they don’t really hold their value at all…plus no local service. When I try for a trade for another brand even the most eager sales people roll their eyes when they hear the brand name. There are better brands with much more power and many more features for a few hundred $ more.
