Should there be water in pool light conduit?
It’s normal for it to have water in it but it’s supposed to terminate well above the pool water level.
Does water get behind pool light?
The pool light conduits carry the electrical cord from the lights to the junction box. The PVC conduits run under the deck from each light if you have more than one light in the water. The conduit pipe is not sealed to the light fixture mounting or niche. Water can get into the hole that carries the conduit.

The have lots of tricks up their sleeves for getting a stuck wire loose. The last thing you want is a broken cord halfway though the conduit I installed the lights myself – there is only one cord all the way to the pool j-box at the pool electric panel (nothing in between).

Why is my light cord not pulling out?
If he had a problem pulling wire it’s probably because someone plugged the conduit. Generally you do not want to dig down and cut your light conduit you run the risk of draining your pool. I had the same problem with the light cord being stuck.

How big is the cord in my Pool?
I now only have about 1 foot of cord extending through the niche, with about 6 inches extending into the pool. Re-trenching is not an option here as there is cool decking pretty much from the pool to the equipment area. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
