Why do I have trouble retracting my slideout?
I don’t know a lot of the details, but it turned out that at the end of the stroke, the slide out dropped so that one of the rack and pinion sets changed center distance enough that the gear teeth disengaged. The retracting load would then fall on only one set of gears thus causing the slideout to skew and bind.
