Is the Pentair 2003 COMPOOL system inoperable?
Our pool was opened last Wednesday and we were unaware that our Pentair 2003 Compool control system was struck by lightning, making the whole system inoperable. After researching and speaking with a Pentair rep, I purchased the Pentair 521247 upgrade, choosing one day delivery.

How to upgrade Pentair COMPOOL to easytouch control?
Upgrade was simple and worked first time on start up; DIP switches long gone. I also have a two speed pump and the motherboard has a connector clearly labelled for that. A few minutes at the keypad to essentially program a softkey and the computer did the connection. In retrospect, a simple upgrade.
Can a Pentair 3400 replace an indoor control panel?
Doesn’t exactly replace the indoor control panel. Instructions call for a different gauge control wire than installed on my 3400. The indoor control panel won’t work properly without it. My problem is that my wire is buried in conduit under the patio. Works in replacing bad and old Compool. It works as advertise in upgrading my Compool system.

How much does it cost to replace COMPOOL board?
Be aware that the this board is digital and the Compool is analog. If you have an inside control panel you will also need to replace it to the new Pentair panel. That is an extra $300. Installed in about an hour and everything is working great.
Why does my indoor control panel not work?
The indoor control panel won’t work properly without it. My problem is that my wire is buried in conduit under the patio. Works in replacing bad and old Compool. It works as advertise in upgrading my Compool system. With the help of tech support I was able to figure out the wires. Be aware that the this board is digital and the Compool is analog.
