Is Baquacil the same as bromine?
The BAQUACIL® Pool Care System is different from chlorine and bromine-based pool sanitizers. For that reason, many chemicals that work with one system won’t work with the other. The BAQUACIL® CDX® Pool Care System is not compatible with chlorine, bromine, any copper based chemical or non-chlorine shock.
Is hydrogen peroxide a Baquacil?
Baquacil, which is classified as a Biquanide, is a non bleach/halogenic product whose main oxidizing component is hydrogen peroxide. This is also why most Baquacil users have good success with the product the first year or two, and then have to use more and more ‘Shock’ to keep the water clear.
