How does fuel run in Onan 5000 genset?
Checked the mixture needle fuel inlet valve etc for all small port holes that fuel runs through and used my welder tip cleaners to run through all holes then blew them out also. I reassembled the carb and put everything back together and when fuel finally made it back up to the carb it fired up and ran very smoothly.

Hello, I have a 1994 Onan 5000 GenSet Emerald Plus, Model No. 5BGEFA26100K and have had a hard time getting it started on this last trip. I have been exercising it as per the manual and it was running great up until about a month ago, but I must admit the last 3 months I exercised the unit it took a bit longer to fire up.

Mine has a Nikki carb , have to unscrew the 2 jet tubes in the bowel dip casting and clean the side holes in jets. The rod going from carb to left (under the cover) is trottle linkage it goes to the governer.
