How does a Hayward Multiport valve work?
Water is pulled from the pool by your pool pump and pushed into the “PUMP” port of the multiport valve where it enters the filter tank. After passing through the filter media, the water exits the tank again into the multiport valve, leaving through the “RETURN” port, and back to your pool.
Is the Hayward spx0710x32 side mount valve good?
SPX0710X32. Works good! Works like a champ! Followed all the suggestions listed here in the reviews and didn’t over tighten. Took an hour to install it because we didn’t know what we were doing. It’s been in and working for about 2 weeks with no problems. Saved a lot of $$$ by buying it here and installing it ourselves.

Is the waste side of a Hayward valve neutral?
Luckily I have a valve on the waste side because of previous valve leaking issues. The valve comes on the neutral position (between settings) so I surmise that the valve plate and the seal surfaces have to adapt to one another Is OEM hayward so its not as if it is a Billy Bob replacement.
