How do you treat first time spa water?
Here are the steps and instructions to follow:
- Fill your hot tub with water from a garden hose.
- Turn thermostat(s) OFF at equipment system in cabinet, and at command center (if your spa is equipped with one).
- Turn power ON at your disconnect box.
- Be sure ON/OFF switch is ON at equipment system in cabinet.
Is there a leak in my spa pump?
There is no actual leak. Essentially, it is just moving. Depending on the model of your check valve, you may be able to replace the main part of it, or you may actually have to replace the entire valve. You may also have smaller check valves that are actually in your return lines that bring water back to the spa.
Why is there water loss in my spa?
My spa’s pump seems to be surging. Keeping your spa’s water at it’s proper level is important. Generally, a spa’s water level should be about halfway up the filter opening. Add water as needed. Water loss can be due to leaks, but a certain amount of evaporation is also unavoidable.
Why is my hot tub leaking from the bottom?
It happens, but leaks in the PVC pipe are actually pretty rare. Much more common are leaks on the backside of spa jets, caused by loose locknuts or deteriorated spa jet gaskets on the inside of the spa. Spa leaks occur in other gasketed equipment – anything with o-rings and gaskets.
What should I do if my hot tub jet leaks?
Jets have flexible gaskets that seal against the spa shell. Over time, hot tub water breaks down the gaskets, causing leaks. To fix a jet gasket leak, you’ll need to remove the jet from the spa to access the gasket. The spa shell and jet must be clean before installing a new gasket.
