How do I get my RV oven to work?
How to Light an RV Oven
- Clean the RV oven prior to lighting it.
- Turn the propane gas on that runs to the oven.
- Push the pilot light’s control as you hold a lit match right over your pilot light hole.
- Hold the control button for at least 30 to 45 seconds once lit to make sure that the pilot light stays on.
Why will my RV oven not light?
The pilot light may not stay lit if the thermocouple wires are too far from the pilot flame, like if they accidentally got bent back when you were cleaning. Without being close enough to sense the heat from the flame the thermocouple will fail to send the right signal back to the controller.
How long does it take a camper oven to heat up?
Then you can simply set a timer (I like this magnetic one) and put the food in when the timer goes off. Chances are your RV oven will take longer to preheat than you think it should. Mine takes a whopping 20 minutes!
