How did I remove the stairs from my RV?
Removing the stairs turned out to be a lot easier than I had imagined. There are actually only 4 bolts holding them in place on my trailer. To access them I did have to unfasten and peel back a bit of the sheet metal trim from the sidewall undercarriage but even that required only the removal of a few screws.
Why are my RV entrance stairs so saggy?

Where is the gear linkage on a step RV?
Refer to the Lippert manuals for your specific Kwikee step model for the correct wiring. You can find the manual for your Kwikee step model here. The motor is mounted on top of the gear linkage with three bolts. It drives the gear linkage in forward or reverse when activated by the controller.
How does a step work on an RV?
The gear linkage has a metal arm that moves the step in and out. When the motor moves the gear, the gear moves the metal arm either in or out which, in turn, moves the step.
