How can I tell if my salt cell is working?
Each salt cell is calibrated to work within a certain range of salinity, generally around 4000 ppm. Most salt chlorinators use a salt sensor and display the measured salt level, or have an indicator light or error code to let you know when the salt level drops below the minimum threshold.
When does the check salt and inspect cell flash?
The ‘Check Salt’ & ‘Inspect Cell’ LEDs will flash when the cell reports the salt level is between 2400 – 2700ppm. In this condition chlorine is still being produced. The ‘Check Salt’ & ‘Inspect Cell’ LEDs will be ON when the cell reports the salt level is 2300ppm or less.
How do you turn off the salt cell?
On some units, simply press the button next to “filter” on the control panel. On other units, turn it off at the on/off switch or the time clock. In addition, flip the breaker for the control panel or turn off the control panel. Then, unplug the salt cell, as well. Remove the salt cell.
When does a chlorinator shut down a salt cell?
Unlike low salt the system does not shut the chlorinator down when a specific salt level is reached. Instead the unit will suspend chlorination when the cell’s amperage draw exceeds a certain value.
When does the check salt and inspect light stay on?
Your chlorine generator is still producing chlorine at the moment, which is a good thing. This is more of an indicator light than anything else. The Check Salt & Inspect Cell LED’s will stay ON when: The salt level is 2300 ppm or less and no chlorine is generating. Step 1: Check your system to confirm that you have programmed the correct cell size.
What happens when the low salt light flashes?
If the “Low Salt” light is solid red, then the sensor is calculating the salt to be below 2,600 and it will turn the cell off. If the “Cell” light is flashing, or off, then the cell is off. The “Cell” light should flash if the cell needs cleaning. It wouldn’t hurt to check it anyway. What are all of your chemical levels?
On some units, simply press the button next to “filter” on the control panel. On other units, turn it off at the on/off switch or the time clock. In addition, flip the breaker for the control panel or turn off the control panel. Then, unplug the salt cell, as well. Remove the salt cell.
When does the low salt light go blank in a pool?
“If the salinity is below 2600 ppm, the salt display will light the red LOW SALT indicator, and the CELL light will go blank, indicating there is not enough salt in the pool for chlorine to be produced.”
