What kind of wire do you need for a hot tub?
The recommended hot tub wire size is 6 AWG copper. Beginning at the LB fitting, use fish tape to pull the wires from the fitting to the spa panel. Leave at least 6 inches of extra wire hanging from the spa panel.
Is it legal to run underground wiring under a hot tub?
Note that it is never permitted to run underground wiring underneath a hot tub. Another issue is to avoid placing the spa under any overhead power or communication cables as the code does not allow for any overhead electrical/comm. cables within 22 1/2 feet from the top of the water level of the filled spa.
