How does Winegard connect work in a RV?
The ConnecT antenna is placed high up on the RVs roof giving better line of sight to the WiFi signal source. It then amplifies the signal and rebroadcasts it inside the whole RV. Basically, you connect all your devices like smartphones, laptops, tablets, TV, etc. to the ConnecT and it shares the WiFi source (e.g. campground WiFi) to each.

The original Winegard ConnecT was expensive, the cellular version was tied to a very limited and pricey data plan, and the physical unit was an ungainly beast that looked like a silly inverted stool on your RV roof – seemingly destined for an inevitable disastrous encounter with a tree branch. Are there any cons to the Winegard connect?
A few cons to the unit are the lack of 5 GHz capability, and for some, it may be too simple. There are techy types that want to delve deep into networking and tweak performance and customs stuff. For example, there is no option to use a directional antenna to pick up signals further away.
Can you use Winegard Connect 2.0 at a campground?
If your internet service is coming through your phone carrier and you are in a dead spot with no cell service, you will not be able to use the WiFi. The Connect 2.0 is just a WiFi extender. If you are at a campground that offers WiFi, this will just get you a better connection to it.
Is the Winegard Connect 2.0 a WiFi extender?
We bought our RV in December and it comes with the Winegard Connect 2.0. We find that unless there is a strong signal or the campground offers WiFi, the extender is basically useless. We are also AT wireless customers with unlimited data on our iPhones.
