Do campers have water pumps?
Recreational vehicles store water in built-in tanks located in the base of the motorhome. On average, an RV tank can store from 50 to 200 gallons of fresh water. The camper water pump draws water up from the tank and allows you to consume the water from the tank. Most RV pumps produce 3.5 gallons of water per minute.
Why is water draining from tank overflow when hooked to city water?
Usually if you are on city water and water is coming out of the fresh water tank gravity flow, that means the check valve is not working or stuck that prevents back flow when hooked up to city water. I’m not sure where that would be on your 16 MaxS. It’s usually near the pump, in the pump filter screen area or inside the city water connection.
Why is the city water connection not working?
We have been using the water tank as we travel. Nothing comes out when we use city water, and the water tank will not fill from the connection that is both the city water and tank fill. We can fill the tank using the other access, and the water works fine from the tank.

How to keep water out of the city water inlet?
A new backflow preventer can simply be installed just inboard (downstream) of the old one. That will prohibit water pushed by the onboard pump to be forced out the city water inlet. Actually, it’s not a difficult task for the average handyman to accomplish in a few minutes….once you gain access to the rear of the existing check valve.
Where is the water coming from in my toilet?
You would have to check all of the plumbing in that area. It could be a bad fitting, bad connection, cracked water line, crack in the hot water tank, water valve on rear of toilet leaking etc. Open all cabinets in the area, check under the sink and behind the toilet. These are the most common places that water could be coming from.
