Can you shrink a shirt that is too big?
Place the shirt in a dryer and switch to a high heat setting to tumble dry. For more delicate fabrics, make sure you are using the delicate heat setting so not to ruin the item. Keep a close eye on it: Shrinking can happen fast! Feel free to check on it even before the cycle ends to see if it’s at your desired size.

How to shrink a t-shirt
- Turn Your T-shirt INSIDE OUT.
- Wash your t-shirt with COLD water. DO NOT USE HOT WATER.
- Turn your Dryer settings to HOT or HIGH.
- Dry your shirts for the Longest setting. Usually 60 Minutes.
- Repeat steps 2-4.
- You are Done Your shirt should now be Shrunk.
Does boiling a shirt shrink it?

Can you shrink clothes by just drying them?
If you lay your wet garment flat to dry after washing, no additional shrinkage will occur and the fibers in your clothing will de-swell and reform to their original size. However, if you machine dry the clothing, it can indeed shrink for good.

You can always save your shirt and protect it’s print and later on if you don’t return to your size cut it out and have it sewn on to your own t-shirt quilt.

The good news is that if you got your shirt from us it most likely is 100% cotton. The bad news is that all our shirts are preshrunk. Don’t worry though. Why does a cotton shirt shrink in the dryer?
While many believe high heat from dryers is responsible for why cotton shrinks, it’s actually the movement of the clothing against the sides of the machine. Because of this, placing your dryer at the hottest setting is not necessary. Instead, run the shirt at medium heat to attain the same effect.
