Can I fill out the census form on my phone?
For the first time, people can respond to the census online or by phone. People can log onto my2020census.gov with the Census ID and fill out the questionnaire — 24 hours a day — on a phone, tablet or computer. If you don’t have the Census ID, you can still complete the questionnaire by verifying your address.

Will Census forms be mailed?
Most people will get their Census instructions in the mail and can complete online. In some areas with poor mail service, Census staff may need to drop off a paper form to the letterbox. They won’t make contact with households.
What happens if I don’t do my census?
You won’t be fined if you don’t submit your form on Census night but the ABS advises: “You may be fined if you refuse to complete the Census after receiving a Notice of Direction or submit an incomplete form”. The notice explains that if you don’t complete the Census, you can be prosecuted and fined up to $222 a day.
When should census forms arrive?
There is no exact delivery date set out, but it should arrive before March 21. The letter you’ll receive will contain a unique access code, which you can then use to complete the census online via census.gov.uk. However, you can complete the census online or via a paper form.

Do you need a letter to fill out the census?
If you have more than 10 people in one household, you will need to use the online questionnaire. Most people with a permanent residence will receive a letter in the mail that includes simple instructions on filling out their questionnaire online. That letter will come with a 12-digit Census ID number.
When do the new census maps come out?
If you don’t participate, your vote will count less when the maps are redrawn in March of 2021. Most U.S. residents are contacted by the U.S. Census Bureau by a letter in the mail in mid-March of 2020.
