Can a jet pump go out in a shallow well?
So yeah that could be the trouble. But also if you ran enough water previously to flood the basement of your home, and if the pump burned-out from that unfortunate event, then IF your new pump went in quickly – say in hours – it’s possible that also the well was exhausted and needs more recovery time. I have a shallow well with a jet pump.
What’s the pressure on my new water pump?
Primed the system turned on the pump and ran it with the water shut off to the house right after the pump it went to 15 psi and stayed there . The pressure switch was replaced last year along with a new small bladder tank.
Can a water pump have a 10 psi cut off?
It is a fairly new pump, so simply replacing the Goulds pressure conrol switch does not guarantee a solution, since the specs of the Goulds switch apparently do not allow one to operate with a cut-in/out differential of 10 psi. – Antony 9…
Why does my jet pump not reach the shutoff pressure?
If the pump will not reach its shutoff pressure, it is either worn out or you are running out of water. Dug up both ends of my underground line. Found a “considerable” leak next to the outside of the well where the line went on the pitlass adapter. Repaired the leak. Could find no other leaks.
What should I do if my pressure switch is not working?
Try removing the tubing and blowing air through it. Check pressure switch tubing for leaks or clogging. Clean or replace the tubing. The clog could also be debris in the orifice on the bottom of the pressure switch sensor, or inside the sensor requiring that the switch be replaced. Arcing may have burned the pressure control switch contacts.
Why is my well pump not holding pressure?
As a safety measure, when a pressure tank is attached to the water delivery system, too much draw on the system can trip the pressure switch to shut the system down. If the pressure switch was activated and went back to a normal level, it can still keep the well shut down. To reset it, close all water valves leading to the delivery system.
Can a submersible pump be a dangerous error?
This dangerous error is more likely to occur with a submersible pump whose noise is not going to be heard. The reader noticed that building water pressure was sometimes dangerously high, around 100 psi! A burst pipe or water tank can both flood the building and injure anyone who is nearby.
