Can a Jandy pool pump relay go bad?

Where was the original Jandy Jandy relay made?
The only difference I can see is that the original part was manufactured in Japan and this was manufactured in Thailand. Quality appears to be identical and the price is much, much better than at the pool supply store. This is a very easy DIY that can save you a bunch of money and time on a service call.
